古长城遗址位于河南鹤壁市市区西北20公里处的大河涧乡肖横岭村。长城南北向分布，残长1.5米，横跨三个山峰，是我省构建年代较早，保存较为完整的古长城之一。
该长城由城墙、掩体、指挥所、战壕四部分组成。城墙残高1.8~1.5米，宽5~0.8米，倚城墙建有 掩体，掩体大小不等，大有5米见方，小有2米见方，掩体的哑铃形与方形了望孔清晰可见，长城的北端，北山的至高点建有一座由三道城墙环绕而成的指挥所，战壕沿长城修建，它是连接城墙，掩体、指挥所的纽带。
该长城经过一系列的考察、论证，认为该长城系战国时赵国所建成，保存完整，构造奇特，功能齐全的古长城，具有较高的文物保护和旅游开发价值。
