用合金法制造的pn结，n型区中施主杂质浓度和p型区中受主杂质浓度都是均匀分布的。在交界面处杂质浓度由nA（p型区）突变为nD（n型区），具有这种杂质分布的pn结称为突变结。实际的突变结，两边的杂质浓度差很多，通常称这种结为单边突边结（记为p n，或n p）。
