| 武昌 中国武汉三镇之一，武汉市科研文教区。由武昌区和洪山区组成。武昌区位于长江南岸，有长江大桥与汉阳相连。人口 105.56万，面积589.9平方千米。三国吴为江夏郡治。西晋到宋分为不同县、州、路治。元为武昌路治，明为武昌府治，湖广总督及湖广布政使司驻地。清为湖北布政使司驻地。1912年为湖北省省会及武昌县治。1926年划武昌县城区为武昌市。1927年武昌市与汉口市合为武汉特别市。1929年武汉分治，武昌市区属湖北省，为省会区。1937年复置武昌市。后几经合分，1949年武昌市与汉口市、汉阳城区合置武汉市，设武昌办事处。1951年置第一区。1952年改今名。境内多湖泊和东西向山丘，建筑与山湖交错 。有许多商业繁华地段。早在1920年至1925年就兴建多座纱厂，成为中国大型纺织工业中心。名胜古迹有东湖名胜区、黄 鹤楼、长春观、宝通禅寺等。1911年辛亥革命起义于此，有武昌起义军政府旧址，起义门等纪念地，称首义之城。洪山区位于武昌东部和南部，因洪山得名。人口46.3 万，面积508.7平方千米。原辖区跨武汉三镇。1985年汉口、汉阳辖区先后划出，1986年武昌区石牌岭以东，八一路以南地区划入。境内地势平坦，多湖泊。建有关山工业区。农业发达，盛产蔬菜、西瓜、莲藕、鱼虾和蟹。洪山红菜薹，天兴洲西瓜为地方名产。 |
