柏林宫廷剧院是由德国杰出的建筑设计大师申克尔呕心沥血设计的作品，代表了德国古典复兴建筑的高峰。入口前宽大的柱廊由六根爱奥尼柱子和巨大的山花组成，突起的观众厅造型新颖，细部精致，两旁的侧翼使主体更加突出。剧院主入口前有一座白色大理石雕塑，是德国伟大的戏剧家、诗人席勒的雕像。剧院的南、北两侧各有一座穹顶教堂，三栋建筑把剧院东侧围出一片广场。夏季，这里可举行露天演出，别有风味。
