Poetry critics have seldom taken the trouble to compare poems on history and poems recalling antiquity for both deal with things happening in the ancient time.

In this article the author has classified the poems on history from their emotions and contents,and then further classified them into subcategories.

As an important genre of classical Chinese poetry,poems on history first came into being in Wei Jin and South and North Dynasties and went through the early development.

Further more, the History-Intoned Poetry of the Southern Dynastiy showed new features:the formation and maturity of the poems meditationg on the past, the appearance and creation of the History-Intoned Poetry getting prefixed topic ,the feminization and convergence of the History-Intoned Yuefu poetry.

Preface, pointed out the sense of the History-Intoned Poetry and the present situation of research, considered that the present situation of research was insufficient.
