   从地表掘进的深度和断面都不大的垂直坑道。断面为正方形或矩形,也有圆形,面积一般为1~2平方米,深度一般为5~20米。浅井主要用于了解基岩和矿产情况,采集岩矿样,提供地质资料。浅井的掘进方法可依实际情况和需要而定。在松软或风化的松散岩石中,通常采用手工掘进;在较坚硬的岩层中,常采用凿岩爆破法掘进;在地层不稳定、涌水量大的地段,则采用特殊掘进法,即插板掘进法或沉箱掘进法。掘进工艺通常包括凿岩、爆破、通风、支护、装岩和提升等。
