In this paper,both compress wave(P) and converted shear wave(PS) velocity models are applied in prestack Kirchhoff migration to process 2D seismic data and gained P wave and PS wave time and depth sections respectively,which are then used to interpret low-amplitude structures and small faults.

Based on Kuo and Dai’s vectorial wavefield extrapolation equations, the Kirchhoff migration equations are derived by means of introducing unit vectors, which represent the ray directions at the imaging points of the reflected P-wave and PS converted wave in this paper.
