| 现代主义建筑 modernism in architecture 20世纪中叶在西方建筑界居主导地位的建筑。又称现代派建筑。其代表人物有：德国的W.格罗皮乌斯和L.米斯·范·德·罗厄、法国的勒·柯布西耶。他们主张摆脱传统建筑形式的束缚，大胆创造适应于工业化社会的条件和要求的崭新的建筑，具有鲜明的理性主义和激进主义的色彩，并创造出一些具有新风格的建筑作品。这些建筑的主要特征是平屋顶，不对称的布局，光洁的白墙面，简单的檐部处理，大小不一的玻璃窗，很少用或完全不用装饰线脚等等。其中影响较大的有格罗皮乌斯的包豪斯校舍、法国古斯鞋楦厂，勒·柯布西耶的萨伏伊别墅，米斯·范·德·罗厄的巴塞罗那博览会德国馆等。
