农业气象灾害的一种。热带作物遭低温侵袭而受的损害。主要发生于冬季。一般最低气温在10℃左右即已轻微受害，4～5℃左右将严重受害。不同作物受害症状不同，橡胶树受害后顶芽叶片嫩梢焦枯，树枝或树干爆皮流胶、干枯，根部死亡；椰子则出现叶枯、果凋甚至全株死亡。
热带作物寒害可因天气特点分为辐射型与平流型两类。前者是寒潮冷锋过境后，在冷高压控制下的晴朗、静风夜晚因辐射降温而造成；后者是由于冷平流强且持续时间长、气温低、风速大而造成，一般持续10～20天，平均气温在10℃以下，橡胶树会因而大量死亡。
防御寒害的主要措施有选择避寒宜林地、营造防护林、采用耐寒品系等。苗圃可设置防霜棚、风障等；对小苗可搭盖防寒罩、培土；对幼树可采用包扎塑料薄膜、稻草防寒筒以及主秆基部培土、修枝和树脚涂封等措施。
