为葡萄科植物网脉葡萄的根。
【植物形态】
网脉葡萄，又名：大叶山天萝。 木质藤本；幼枝近圆柱形，有白色蛛丝状柔毛，后变无毛。叶心形或心状卵形，长8～15厘米，宽5～10厘米，通常不裂，有时不明显3浅裂，边缘有小牙齿，下面沿脉有锈色蛛丝状毛，叶脉下面隆起，脉网显明，两面常有白粉；叶柄长4～7厘米。圆锥花序长8～15厘米；花小，淡绿色；花萼盘形，全缘；花瓣5；雄蕊5。浆果球形，直径7～12(～18)毫米，蓝黑色，有白粉。 生于山坡灌丛中。分布四川、贵州、湖南、湖北、安徽、浙江等地。
【功用主治】
治慢性骨髓炎。
【临床应用】
治疗慢性骨髓炎。用野葡萄根1斤，洗净，剥去表皮，抽掉根心，取其肉皮捣烂如泥状(忌用铁器)，再加入4个鸡蛋的蛋清及麻油二两、酒(或95%酒精)0.5两调匀成膏，夏季酌加防腐剂。用时将药膏涂在消毒棉垫上，敷于患处，用绷带固定。每天换药1次，直至痊愈为止。如有瘘管可配合药捻引流脓液。一般疗程在1～2个月左右。对年老、体弱、病程较长的患者，应配合补益气血药内服；如患处无红肿及热感，自觉深部酸痛，单用此膏外敷效果不明显者，可同时内服中药阳和汤，以促使深部脓肿破溃，敷药始能发挥其作用。共治疗慢性骨髓炎患者35例，痊愈18例，显效2例。实验室抑菌试验证明，野葡萄根对金黄色葡萄球菌有强烈的杀灭作用。
