历史：本品种产生澳洲雪梨，曾经被称为“雪梨丝毛梗”。为了让此犬同时拥有澳洲梗与约克夏梗最优良的特征，饲养着运用复杂的异种交配改良出现在的丝毛梗。
性质：丝毛梗可爱，快活，聪明，陌生人靠近时，会有警戒心，为都市居民的理想看家犬或家庭犬。本犬也喜欢在乡下散步。丝毛梗尽管在行动上与梗类不同，却具有梗类的性格。因此，对一些喜欢果断，对一些喜欢果断，体形小巧的玩赏犬饲养者来说，最合适不过了。澳洲丝毛梗只有直立耳朵的品种被认可。垂耳和附血统证书的品种同样有魅力，也是受欢迎的家庭犬。
