   硼与氢形成的一类二元化合物。又称硼氢化合物。最简单的硼烷应该是BH₃  ，但这一化合物尚未制得，只存在其衍生物，因此，硼烷中的第一个成员是B₂H₆。硼烷命名中硼原子个数的表示方法为  ：硼原子数小于10者用甲、乙、丙、丁、戊、己、庚、辛、壬、癸表示，超过10者用中文数字表示，在硼烷名称后面还应加上带圆括号的阿拉伯数字，表示硼烷中的氢原子数。
    简单的硼烷无色，有难闻臭味，性质不稳定，在空气中能自燃，燃烧时放出大量的热；有毒。硼烷分子中组成某些化学键的一对电子共享于3个原子之间，形成了三中心键（B—B—B键和B—H—B键）。可用卤化硼与氢化铝锂的反应制取，主要用作喷气飞机和火箭的高能燃料。
