Ever since a period of time, many experts and researchers have carried out large amounts of work on ore prospecting and geological research in the central Fujian Province and adjacent area, but only a little achievement has been made on regional metallogenic regularities and mineral resource.

Metamorphic rocks in Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces have Rb-Sr isochronic ages in the range of 650-1970 Ma, U-Pb zircon ages of 890-2760 Ma and Sm-Nd wholerock isochronic ages of 1380-2120 Ma, which suggests that there exists Precambrian crustal basement in this region.

Widely distributed in Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces, the Mesozoic volcanic rocks are dominanted by silicic rocks (dacite+rhyolite≥90%).
