补充资料：敦煌九色鹿王本生图壁画
敦煌九色鹿王本生图壁画 在莫高窟257窟，是北魏本生故事画中最早的横卷式连续画之一。壁画以横幅长卷形式连续画出佛的前身九色鹿王故事的种种情节：鹿王在江边救起溺水人，溺水人叩谢；王后梦见鹿王，要求国王捕捉鹿王；国王悬赏捕鹿，溺水人告密，国王带人捕鹿，鹿王向国王诉说救溺水人经过；国王放走鹿王，王后心碎而死；告密者得到报应，身上长癞，口中恶臭。每一段落均附有文字榜题。显然是继承了汉画的传统手法。画面以人物为主，衬以山石树木。土红地色上配以青绿山水，点缀花草，有浓厚装饰风。画中的建筑物格式、车马形制、骏马形态等，都与汉画中的形十分相似。
