生理名。由性染色体上的基因控制的性状。人体均有两条性染色体，一条来自父体，另一条来自母体。人类X染色体(女性决定染色体)带有许多基因，而Y染色体(男性决定染色体)带的基因很少。女性有2条X染色体，男性有一条X染色体，一条Y染色体。X染色体上基因的相互作用可产生红—绿色盲等性状。男性Y染色体上基因对X染色体上的基因无抑制作用。血友病是由X染色体基因控制的一种遗传病，只通过女性传递给男性后代。蹼趾及其他一些轻微的畸形是由Y染色体基因决定的遗传疾病，因此仅见于男性，并只通过男性遗传。
