   分子式C6H6O,分子量126.11。俗称焦性没食子酸或焦棓酚。学名1,2,3-苯三酚。白色晶体。在空气和光照下颜色变深。有毒。熔点131~133℃、沸点309℃,密度(4/4℃)1.453g/cm3。逐渐加热时能升华而不分解。易溶于水、乙醇、乙醚,微溶于苯和氯仿。用于制造偶氮染料、呫吨染料、蒽醌染料等,用作显影剂、羊毛媒染剂、皮革着色剂。可由棓酸经加热失去二氧化碳制得。
