中国植物病理学家。福建省福州市人。生于1910年10月， 1980年3月31日去世。1933年毕业于金陵大学，1933～1937年任福州协和大学农校高级部主任、金陵大学植病系助教。1937～1940年留学美国康奈尔大学，获哲学博士学位。回国后，历任金陵大学副教授、农林部专员、北京大学农学院植病系教授兼系主任。中华人民共和国成立后，任植保系教授兼副系主任，并曾为植保所副所长。长期从事植物病理学的研究和教学工作。在马铃薯退化病研究中，对温度与病毒侵染后寄主耐病性变化规律的探索取得成果，为制定种薯生产制度提供了科学依据，因此获1978年全国科学大会奖。他还根据从中心病株开始的病害流行规律，为马铃薯晚疫病的防治提供了有效方法。在真菌生理学方面，他证明了在分生孢子萌发中，阳离子对铜素按价数起不同程度的解毒作用；发现了在卵菌生理过程中用提高钙素浓度的方法，来解决有机酸利用氨基酸合成时增加细胞透性的矛盾。主要论著有《普通植物病理学》(1959)、《植物病原真菌学》(1961)、《植物免疫学》（1963）、《植物病毒诊断和病原识别──病原真菌》(1975)等。沈崇尧
