1.古代习俗，每逢夏历三月上旬的巳日(三国魏以后定为夏历三月初三日)，人们于水边相聚宴饮，认为可祓除不祥。后人仿行，于环曲的水流旁宴集，在水的上流放置酒杯，任其顺流而下，杯停在谁的面前，谁就取饮，称为"流觞曲水"。
