Chlamydomonas
    绿藻门衣藻科的一属。单细胞个体,细胞形状有球形、近球形、椭圆形、长圆形、近圆柱形、梨形等等。具1层较薄的由纤维素和糖蛋白构成的细胞壁;有些种类,细胞壁外面还有1层胶质层。有1对顶生的等长的、能动的鞭毛;细胞内充满细胞质,有1个细胞核;1个叶绿体,较大,形状因种的不同而异,有杯状、星状、片状、H形等;叶绿体内埋藏有1个至数个蛋白核和1个眼点  ;还有1到几个伸缩泡。无性生殖为细胞的纵分裂,产生动孢子。有性生殖依种类不同,有同配、异配、或卵配的区别。合子均经过休眠,萌发时经过减数分裂,产生4~8个游泳的减数孢子,每个细胞可发育成为新个体。
