美国国家动物园
美国华盛顿国家动物园占地65公顷，拥有470多种动物，数量达3600多只，其中比较受欢迎的有印度豹、白老虎、苏门答腊虎、亚洲狮、长臂猿、低地猩猩、大熊猫等等。动物园内还有完全模仿亚马逊热带雨林的亚马逊丛林区，景色优美如画。美国国家动物园与中国很有缘分。1972年，中国政府将大熊猫“兴兴”和 “玲玲”作为国礼送美国，并在该动物园安家落户，成为美中两国发展友好关系的纽带。后来它们先后去世了，人们非常惋惜。2002年12月6日，又有两只大熊猫“美香” 和“添添”乘坐美国联邦快递公司提供的专机“熊猫一号”，从中国成都抵达该动物园。这两只大熊猫是在中美两国政府的支持下，根据中国野生动物保护协会和华盛顿国家动物园达成的有关合作研究协议来美国的，将在华盛顿旅居10年。
