敬文小学
苏州市敬文实验小学是一所历史悠久的学校。它位于市内著名宝塔——北寺塔附近，前身为“吴县公立第二半日制学堂”，创办于清光绪卅三年(公元1907年），堂址在西北街天后宫内。解放后，人民政府接管学校，名为苏州市北街中心小学，1970年迁至皮市街原289号敬文小学地址，1973年改名为苏州市北塔中心小学。
敬文小学是由朱敬文先生于1942年自筹资金创办的。并亲自担任董事、校长。后朱敬文先生身居海外，对家乡的教育事业十分关心，让在香港经商的儿子朱恩馀先生代为苏州的儿童教育事业出一份力。朱恩馀先生自1982年以来，多次来校商谈资助问题。1984年起共捐资人民币330万元，学校用于建造育才楼、图书馆，扩建校园，添置图书、电教设备等。为弘扬朱先生艰苦创业精心育才的精神，1987年经苏州市人民政府批准，将北塔中心小学改名为敬文中心小学，1997年又命名为敬文实验小学。
学校现有建筑面积7380平方米，除了教育楼、实验楼各两幢外，还有建筑面积为600平方米的四层楼图书馆一幢，以及建筑面积250平方米的室内风雨活动室和乒乓训练房各一间。学校现有29个班，近1300名学生，教职工79人，青年教师61名，其中73％达大专及大专以上学历。
学校从清末创建至今，已度过了九十多个春秋，历任校领导治学严谨，艰苦创业，大胆启用人才，为发展学校教育呕心沥血，鞠躬尽瘁．建树颇多；教师队伍忠于职守，爱岗敬业，勤于耕耘，无私奉献，教学相长，共同提高，实施素质教育，德、智、体、美诸方面相互渗透，栽桃培李，面向全体；学生群体，热爱祖国，尊敬师长，勤学守纪，活泼进取，全面发展；历届校友，人才辈出，建国立业，为国争光。
