在呼伦湖区观鸟，最佳地点是在乌兰泡。如今，乌兰泡已成为国家级“呼伦湖珍禽湿地及草原生态系统自然保护区”的核心地域，各种珍禽候鸟将在这个神秘而幽静的世外桃源里过着自由的生活。也为观鸟爱好者提供了最佳的观鸟场地。
