以房地产开发企业为会计主体的一种行业会计。运用会计的基本理论和方法，以货币为主要计量单位，对房地产开发企业的资金运动主要从事房地产开发与经营。房地产是房产与地产的总称。房产是建设在土地上的各种房屋、建筑物，地产是土地和地下各种基础设施的总称。房产与地产紧密联结为一体，不可分离，房依地建，地下基础设施又是为房屋主体服务的。房地产开发企业的主要经济活动包括：（1）土地开发：指进行土地平整、建筑物的拆除，地下管道的敷设和道路、基础设施建设等。（2）房屋开发：指城市房屋建设的酝酿、规划、设计、施工到房屋建成交付使用的全过程，以及房屋的售后管理和维修服务。（3）房地产经营：广义的房地产经营包括从房地产开发开始到进入消费为止的全过程，狭义的房地产经营则仅指房地产买卖，包括房地产转让、训和房地产租赁。这些经济活动是房地产开发企业会计核算的监督的内容。
