江门新会有这样一个地方，西面与著名风景区“小鸟天堂”一河之隔，东面紧靠人文景点梁启超故居。在这里，智能温室和奇花异卉构成了城郊的“小桃园”。漫步其中，野趣园、科普长廊、珍奇花卉园、无土栽培果菜园等令人流连忘返，这便是集生产示范、科普教育和观光旅游于一体的新会现代农业基地。
景色特点
新会现代农业基地积极打造“自然生态游”品牌，并成为该基地的一大支柱产业。今年以来，该基地接待游客已达4．5万多人次，旅游收入已占该基地经营总收入的近4成。为完善旅游环境，最近该基地改造了长120多米的科普长廊，种上情人果、炮仗花、禾雀花等6种藤生植物；面积4000多平方米的联动大棚内培植了荷兰红掌、金钱树等名贵花卉。为增加游客的参与性，该基地专门开辟了捉鱼区和摘果区，让游客自娱自乐，增加旅游乐趣。在摘果区，杨桃等水果已开始成熟。近期，该基地还将增设传统农业展览厅和水上活动区等项目。
