柳毅传书故事纹镜 多为金代铜镜。宋元亦有。形制为圆形，圆纽。钮左侧有大树一株，枝叶延至右上方。树下一男一女作对话状，身前几只小羊，钮右侧一人乘马向东驶去。主题纹饰取材于民间故事柳毅传书。镜纹表现的是这个故事的开端：洞庭龙君小女牧羊于道畔，遇见柳毅，龙女向柳毅诉说所遭遇的悲惨身世，柳毅慨然应允传递书信，骑马引别东去。镜钮上方的那株大树，大概是表示洞庭湖畔的大桔树，柳毅依靠它才得以会见洞庭龙王，转龙女的消息。
