复仇号轻型航母(vengeance)由swan hunter 建造。1942年11月16日开工，1944年2月23日下水，1945年1月15日服役。开始在地中海服役，后来到了太平洋。1950年进行改装后，于1952年11月13日租借给澳大利亚。命名为 "hmas vengeance".
在澳大利亚海军服役间主要用作训练航母。1955年8月13日交还给英国。1956年12月12日卖给巴西。6/1957-12/1960在rotterdam进行全面改装，包括：增加斜角甲板，增加新的升降机，新的岛式上建，新的航空支持系统和电子系统。安装了10门40mm炮。1960年12月6日重新服役，命名为 "minas gerais"。最早用于反潜/攻击，后来纯粹用于反潜。1994年用防空导弹取代了舰炮。计划服役到2005年。
