天华洞旅游度假区距京城80千米。天华洞景区坐落在沙峪乡境内的万峰山中，旅游区开发总面积为12平方千米，与慕田峪长城紧紧相连，植被茂密，空气清新。跨过灵壁石雕刻的哼哈二将把守的山门，走进奇形怪状的神秘洞穴。天华洞是天然形成的石灰岩溶洞，石壁皱折似皱纹，潮湿的石壁为洞穴增加了神秘感。可惜洞刚刚开发，洞内有明万历八年和清乾隆四十一年在此修行的人留下的墨迹。洞底有地河，原始洞中有神龛佛像和镇洞大磬。
从洞内出来，可直奔山岭上的古长城，也可沿着原路下山。途中路过百孝公园，这是一处人造景观，它是以传说中上百名孝子敬父母的故事为题材，采用汉白玉雕刻的多幅壁画，可以作为伦理道德教育的教材。
天华度假山庄为古朴典雅的古式建筑，三套大型四合院可同时接待120人举行会议、住宿、就餐、还有露天游泳池、湖心岛、天华亭、歌舞厅等设施。
