安全竞赛(safety emulation)一种以遵守安全操作规程、杜绝生产事故为目标的竞赛活动。它是使工人对安全生产引起重视的一种有效手段。这种竞赛，可分为个人竞赛和集体竞赛两种。两者一般都采取对口竞赛方式，即几个人或两个部门结成竞赛对子，少出事故者得奖。通常，在竞赛过程中人们普遍重视安全生产，从而减少了工伤事故;但一旦竞赛结束，有人又会忽视安全生产。故必须提高工人的安全意识，以保持常备不懈。 (张燕逸撰张觉审)
