Evaluation on Water Conversation Function of Forest in Mount Tai;

To understand the effects of varying soil temperature and moisture content on soil organic carbon(SOC)mineralization under mountain forest,alpine meadow,desert steppe,and arid steppe in mid Qilian Mountains,an anaerobic incubation test with orthogonal design was conducted in an artificial climatic chamber.

Mass loss and element release of litter in the subalpine forest over one freeze-thaw season

To understand the effects of Fargesia nitida on forest cycle succession of subalpine forests in Wolong Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province, species diversity and tree regeneration with bamboo(B~+) and without bamboo(B~-) condition of three regeneration stages were investigated.

To understand the effects of seasonal freezing-thawing on the subalpine forest ecosystem processes,the microbial count and biomass in fir(Abies faxoniana) and birch(Betula platyphylla) litters under the condition of freezing-thawing were measured from October 2006 to April 2007 by litter bags method.
