An experimental study using naphthalene sublimation has been carried out to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of four kinds of plate fin heat exchanger elements,namely in line and staggered arrangement for circular and flat tube, at a certain fin pitch with the variation of tube shape.

At present,trench shape and size,the two factors having the most direct and economical influences on pipeline strain,have not been studied yet.
