| 仓鼠亚科 Cricetinae；hamster 啮齿目仓鼠科的一亚科。通称仓鼠。仓鼠臼齿齿冠具两纵行排列的齿尖，两颊有颊囊，可将食物暂存口内，搬运到洞内贮藏，故又称腮鼠、搬仓。多属中、小型鼠类，体型短粗，体长5～28厘米，体重30～1000克；眼小，耳壳显露毛外，除分布于中亚地区的小仓鼠外，其余种类均具颊囊；尾一般是体长的一半，上覆密毛，少数种类（如沙漠小仓鼠）则很短，不及后足的一半；毛色差异较大，一般为灰色、灰褐或沙褐色，原仓鼠毛色比较鲜艳，背部红褐色，腹部黑，体侧前部有3块白色毛斑；共5属15种分布于欧亚大陆。中国有3属8种，主要分布于长江以北各省，包括青藏高原。
仓鼠广泛栖息于草原、农田、荒漠、山麓及河谷的灌丛，偶尔也进入房舍。夜间活动。主要以植物种子为食，兼吃植物嫩茎和叶，偶尔也吃昆虫。不冬眠。冬季靠吃贮存的食物生活。春末开始繁殖，年产2～3胎，每胎5～12只。大仓鼠每胎可达22仔。寿命约2年。仓鼠多是农田害鼠。每一洞穴贮粮可达90千克，常使粮食作物受到很大损失。仓鼠又是许多疾病的传播者，给人畜带来危害。 |
