性质:白色鳞片或粉末。易溶于水(1:0.8,25℃)和甘油(1:5),能溶于95%乙醇(1:11),几乎不溶于醚、氯仿和苯。水溶液呈微酸性(pH5-6)。久露光线中变粉红色。无臭或微带特殊的臭气,味甜呀不适。

制备方法:将水杨酸和碳酸氢钠交叉加入蒸馏水中,温度保持60℃,并保持呈酸性状态,同时加入适量乙二胺四乙酸(EDTA)及保险粉。升温至85℃,反应半小时。将合格的反应液经过滤送入沸腾床,85℃干燥得水杨酸。

用途:有机合成原料、防腐剂、测胃液中游离酸的试剂。解热镇痛药和抗风湿药。
