性质:仅含有一个苯环的烃。此类化合物大多有芳香味。最基本的代表物是苯。若苯环上的氢被各种烷基、烯基、炔基取代则可生成各种单环芳烃。这些化合物通常同时具有烃类取代基的性质和苯的一些基本性质。是重要的有机原料和溶剂。其主要来源为煤焦油和石油烃裂解产物中的芳烃馏分。
