性质:又称硬烧。耐火原料在足够高的温度下煅烧,并达到充分烧结的一种工艺过程。常用于烧制耐火材料的熟料(特别是碱性熟料)。当使用高温体积稳定性低的某些天然矿物、碱性耐火原料或其他合成材料作为耐火原料时,必须先经死烧制成耐火熟料。死烧的温度依材料而异。例如当白云石经过1700~1800℃煅烧后,石灰、方镁石的晶粒尺寸达到较大值,且体积稳定,有抗水性,密度达3.0~3.4g/cm3,就成为死烧白云石。
