性质:又称光测弹性效应或机械双折射。透明的固体材料在外力作用下,折射率特性发生改变而产生双折射的现象。若材料是各向同性的,则外力作用使其成为各向异性而产生双折射;若材料是各向异性的,则外力作用会使其产生附加双折射。在工程上可利用应力双折射现象观察各种力学结构的应力分布。
