性质:He为0族元素,Z2。氦元素有3He和4He两种稳定同位素,核外电子构型都为1s2。原子量分别为3.01603和4.00260。3He的天然丰度仅1.37×10-4%,余为4He。3He为单原子气体。外层电子轨道饱和,化学性质极稳定。在空气中含量仅亿万分之一,核衰变是其惟一来源。临界温度3.324K,临界压力116.4kPa,临界密度41.3kg/cm3,是最难液化的气体,无三相点。正常沸点3.1905K。正常沸点时液体密度58.9kg/cm3。蒸气密度23.64kg/cm3。蒸发热25.48J/mol。表面张力0.02mN/m。液体黏度1.61kPa·s。液体导热系数21.3mW/(m·K)。饱和液体摩尔热容16.74J/(mol·K)。零点能262.5J/mol 3He核有磁性,服从居里定律。3He稀释制冷可达0.005K的低温。基于Pomeranchuk效应的3He绝热压缩制冷机可达到0.002K以下。工业上,从天然气或空气中提取4He。某些放射性元素分裂时得到3He。α质点就是氦的原子核。无色惰性气体,不自燃也不助燃,最难液化的气体。3He是热核聚变的宝贵材料,亦用来制造3He-Ne激光器,3He中子探测器和3He光抽运原子磁力仪。3He-4He稀释制冷可获得0.0035~0.0055K极低温。用绝热加固化新技术,可获得0.0001K更低温度。3He温度计可测量1K以下的低温。近来3He还用于研究植物的光合效应,精密分析动物代谢反应的标记气体,原子反应堆燃料棒的损耗和寿命检测等,在核物理和低温物理研究中,特别是极低温研究方面得到广泛的应用。
