By using flame propagation theory,2D two-phase turbulent combustion model,EBU-Arrhenius model,PSI-Cell model and ADINA software,the velocity,temperature and pressure fields at different flight conditions are calculated for an aeroengine when lean blowout occurs in the combustor.

The lean blowout fuel air ratio and flame photo were obtained.

Experiment results exhibited that the increasing of fuel air ratio in dome had a good effect on fuel-air ratio at lean blowout,and showed that the design was promising with low fuel air ratio at lean blowout and acceptable smoke number.

A new high temperature rise combustor design with a three-swirler and hybrid injector to improve the smoke emission and lean blow-out characteristics was presented.

The assumption of unity Lewis number in the flamelet model of turbulent combustion is examined and the influence of differential diffusion and radiation on the flamelet structure, nitric oxide emission and extinction limit is investigated.

In a pilot scale reverse flow reactor with a liter of catalyst, catalytic combustion of typical industrial waste gas contaminated with volatile aromatic compounds (VOC) was systematically investigated, and the "temperature run-away"in the case of too high feed concentration and the "extinction of reactor" in the case of low feed concentration were observed.

Using the digital image processing technique and the laser tomography technique, a novel approach based on the turbulent intermittence was proposed here to describe the extinction process of turbulent flame.
