This paper comprehensively studies the difference between max output level "Somax" and nominal output level "Sa" of CATV amplifier, and analyzes the time and condition that the formulas based on "Somax "and Sa being applied.
全面分析有线电视放大器最大输出电平Somax和标称输出电平Sa的差别,说明基于两种输出电平的两类放大器输出电平计算公式的适用条件和适用时期,指出当前不能继续使用基于最大输出电平的计算公式,必须采用基于标称输出电平的系统满载计算公式来设计计算放大器输出电平。

In this paper, the author discussed the history and cause of the variation of the design method for the maximum output level of CATV amplifiers, analyzed the difficulty to accurately design the output level, and proposed a method which is based on the original parameters of the amplifier module to solve the problem in designing the output level and calculating the distortion.
