牛的一种恶性病。由疱疹病毒科(Herpesviridael)丙疱疹病毒亚科(Gammaherpesvirinae)中的恶性卡他热病毒引起。传染性不强，多为散发性。主要发生于非洲，也见于欧洲、美洲以及其他地区。中国有可疑病例报道。绵羊也能受感染，但不表现症状，而成为牛的感染来源。特征为短期高烧,口、鼻和眼睛的粘膜出现高度炎症,甚至有出血和溃疡，早期可见神经症状，死亡率高。此病易与牛瘟以及牛的其他"粘膜病"混淆，诊断时应予鉴别。曾试用灭活疫苗和活疫苗预防，但对效果的评价不一。
