NATO military communication satellite
Beidaxiyang Tiaoyue Zuzhi iunyongtongxin weixing北大西洋条约组织军用通信卫星(NATO mllitary communieation satellite)北大西洋条约组织(简称北约)用于军事通信的卫星。简称“纳托”号卫星。主要用于驻北约总部代表与本国政府之间的通信联络，以及为北约的地面部队、空军和海军提供指挥控制的通信线路。20世纪60年代，北约通过参加美国的初期国防通信卫星计划，取得了建立军用卫星通信系统的经验。1970年和1971年先后发射2颗类似干英国“天网”1号卫星的“纳托”号卫星，并在各成员国建成了12个地球通信站。1973年开始研制较为先进的“纳托”111通信卫星(见图)，1976一1984年共发射4颗。卫星的轨道质量为310一337千克，设计寿命为7年。通信频率为:上行7 975~8 162兆爵 “纳托”皿卫星赫，下行7 250~7 437兆赫;窄波束全向等效辐射功率为37分贝瓦，宽波束全向等效辐射功率为29分贝瓦。北约共建成21个地球通信站、2个可运输终端和大量舰载终端。 1987年，北约向英国定购了两颗先进的“纳托”W卫星，它与英国的“天网”4号卫星相似(见英国军用通信卫星)，这两颗卫星于1991年l月7日和1993年12月8日先后发射人轨。(龚念曾)
