保险索赔（InsuranceClaim)指当被保险人的货物遭受承保责任范围内的风险损失时，被保险人向保险人提出的索赔要求。在国际贸易中，如由卖方办理投保，卖方在交货后即将保险单背书转让给买方或其收货代理人，当货物抵达目的港（地），发现残损时，买方或其收货代理人作为保险单的合法受让人，应就地向保险人或其代理人要求赔偿。中国保险公司为便利我国出口货物运抵国外目的地后及时检验损失，就地给予赔偿，已在100多个国家建立了检验或理赔代理机构。
