一类居里点接近室温、在特定温度范围内磁感应强度(B)或磁导率(μ)随温度的升高而急剧下降的软磁合金，简称热磁合金。主要用于制作永磁器件的温度补偿元件、热敏开关元件等。1928年库斯曼(A.Z.Kussmann)报道蒙乃尔(Monel)合金的磁感在居里温度附近随温度变化而急剧变化。同时在德国出现Ni-Cu-Fe系Calmalloy型合金，1930年金纳德 (I.F.Kinnard)将该型合金应用于自补偿温度指示器。1934年施特布莱因（F.Stblein）报道了30Ni-Fe系Thermoperm合金的磁感-磁场热磁补偿的温度特性。此后热磁补偿合金发展成不同系列。中国在50年代开始少量生产热磁合金，60年代末形成合金系列。两种常用的热磁合金的磁导率随温度变化的曲线见图。
热磁合金大部为厚0.2～3mm板、带材，加工工艺与一般铁镍系软磁合金的带材工艺相似，也有一部分热磁合金采用粉末冶金、铸造或多层复合等工艺。
