中国重力选矿专家。1900年 1月16日生于上海市松江县。1924年毕业于天津北洋大学。先后在唐山开滦煤矿任煤师、广西平桂矿务局等地从事矿业开发工作。1941年后一直在云南个旧云南锡业公司任工务处长、个旧选矿厂厂长、总工程师等职。1946年赴英国、美国、加拿大考察，并加入美国采矿协会。1949年后仍任云锡公司总工程师，负责探、采、选、炼等技术领导工作。由他主持设计建设的老屯索道（全长16km，是当时国内最长的索道）和大屯氧化矿选矿厂，投产后效果良好，为发展锡业生产、培养技术力量打下了基础。1956年后着重搞科研工作，在重选新设备方面，对研制水析器、矿浆计量器、翻床、六层矿泥摇床等作出了贡献，为回收细微粒锡石提供了新设备，使云南锡矿细粒回收水平达到国际先进水平。1973年退休后仍对云南锡矿生产建设提供了很多有益的建议。他毕生为锡矿生产作出了显著的成绩。
