    性状  微细的白色粉末。在580℃时失去水变成氧化钙。密度2.94g/cm3。熔点580℃。溶于酸、甘油,极难溶解于水。具有强碱性。在空气中能渐渐吸收二氧化碳而变成碳酸钙。能与水组成乳状悬浮液(石灰乳)。其澄清的水溶液是石灰水,是无色无嗅透明的碱性液体,也能吸收空气中的二氧化碳而生成碳酸钙沉淀。
    应用领域  是生产漂粉精和漂白粉以及沉淀碳酸钙的主要原料。可用作硬水软化剂,消毒剂,制酸剂,收敛剂等。还可用作建筑涂料和石油润滑油添加剂等。
