为菊科植物止血丹的全草。
【植物形态】
止血丹 多年生草本。茎纤细，高约30厘米。叶互生，倒披针形，长5～6厘米，宽1～1.2厘米，先端短尖，基部狭长，全缘，上面绿色，下面紫色；无柄。头状花数枚顿生；总苞钟形；苞片1列，近基部附有数枚小短苞；花全为管状，黄色。瘦果有棱线，冠毛白色。 生于山野草坡。

夏、秋采收。
【性味】
性寒，味苦。
【功用主治】
散毒，行血。
【选方】
治蛇咬伤：止血丹适量，捣绒敷伤口。
