【性味】
《千金·食治》："味甘，微寒滑，无毒。"
【功用主治】
治热毒下痢，淋病，金疮。 ①《千金·食治》："除客热，利肠胃。" ②《本草拾遗》："叶，烧为末，敷金疮；捣碎，敷火疮；又：叶炙煮与小儿食，治热毒下痢及大人丹痢，捣汁服亦可，恐腹痛即暖饮之。" ③《本草蒙筌》："理恶疮，散血。" ④《纲目》："作蔬食，滑窍治淋，润燥易产。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，2～6钱；煮食或捣汁。外用：捣敷或烧存性研末调敷。
【宜忌】
《医林纂要》："天行病后忌食。"
【选方】
①治小便出血：酒腹葵茎灰方寸匕，日二。(《千金方》) ②治小儿口疮：赤葵茎炙干为末，蜜和含。(《圣惠方》)
