用绝缘油浸渍塑料薄膜而成的复合绝缘材料。塑料薄膜具有高的击穿场强和体积电阻率，非极性或弱极性。薄膜的εb和tgδ小,与温度和频率几乎无关。油浸薄膜和油浸纸相比,击穿强度高、tgδ小。油浸非极性薄膜的tgδ仅为油浸纸的1/10～1/20,且随温度的变化小,因而发热量少。油浸薄膜的局部放电场强较高。如油浸聚丙烯薄膜的工作场强可达50兆伏／米,为油浸纸的3倍以上。因而它在部分电工设备中，特别是在电容器中获得大量应用。最常用的薄膜是聚丙烯及少量聚酯、聚苯乙烯薄膜等。薄膜的浸渍可在较低的温度及高真空(＜1.33帕)下进行。使用时必须注意油和膜的相容性，应选用和膜相容性好的绝缘油，即对膜的溶解量小、溶胀率低、易于浸渍等。为改善膜的浸渍性，可采用膜纸复合介质。20世纪70年代初出现的粗化聚丙烯薄膜，浸渍性优良，可用作油浸全膜介质。
