性质：某一炸药装药爆轰时引起位于与它相隔一定距离处的其他装药发生爆轰的现象。首先爆轰的炸药称为主发炸药或主爆炸药，被殉爆的炸药称为被发炸药或被爆炸药。主发炸药爆轰时使被发炸药100％殉爆的两装药间的最大距离，称为殉爆距离(sympathetic detonation distance)；而被发炸药100％不殉爆的最小距离，称为殉爆安全距离(safety distance of sympathetic detonation)。殉爆距离可实际测定。为了防止殉爆，在建筑火炸药工厂、车间、实验室及药库时，必须考虑建筑物之间的殉爆安全距离，此距离可用经验公式计算。而为了确保爆轰的有效传递，在设计武器装药和工程爆破装药时，也必须考虑殉爆距离。
