血液与氧结合的程度，亦即血红蛋白(Hb）与氧结合的程度，即血氧饱和度=〓〓与Hb结合的氧含量〓〓Hb的氧容量〓〓×100%。正常值：动脉血氧饱和度95%～97%(0.95～0.97）。SaＯ2测定有助于临床鉴别低氧血症的原因。在缺氧性低氧血症时，由于氧的供给不足，血红蛋白不能充分发挥作用，此时血氧分压降低，血氧饱和度亦低，如慢性心肺疾病时，若SaO2降低，是氧供不足的表现；如果没有缺氧的环境因素，则是肺通气、换气障碍的结果。若低氧血症，氧分压降低而SaO2不低，提示血红蛋白不足或异常血红蛋白血症。SaO2增高见于真性红细胞增多和血液浓缩。
