半导体超晶格（semiconductorsuperlattice）
由一组多层薄膜周期重复排列而成的单晶。多层薄膜中各层厚度从几个到几十个原子层范围。各层的主要半导体性质如带隙和掺杂水平可以独立地控制。多层薄膜的周期可以在生长时人为控制，因而得到了人造的晶体结构即超晶格。多层薄膜中各层的组分突变的超晶格称为组分调制超晶格；各层掺杂原子型号发生突变的超晶格称掺杂调制超晶格。组分调制超晶格的能带图与多量子阱类似，惟一的区别是超晶格中由于势垒层厚度小于电子的德布罗意（deBroglie）波长，相邻势阱中的电子波函数发生交叠，因而多量子阱的离散能级将展变为能带，其能带宽度及位置与势阱深度、宽度及势垒厚度有关。超晶格具有一些普通半导体中没有发现的有用性质。
